Cucumber Honey Eye Nourisher

Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. Aloe vera gel
2 tsp. Cucumber, peeled with seeds removed
1/2 tsp. Honey
1/2 tsp. Chamomile tea

Directions:
Steep chamomile tea in boiling water. Set aside to cool. In food processor or blender combine cucumber, aloe vera and honey. Blend on low setting. Add chamomile tea. Blend until smooth. Apply gently under eyes using ring finger. Store in glass dish covered with plastic wrap in refrigerator for up to one week. Best applied chilled.

I was driving at night when I first noticed my vision wasn’t as good as it used to be. I noticed I couldn’t see a clear picture in front of me. The passing cars and lorries were blurred.

This scared me.

And not just because I was driving a car at the time.

I’d never had any eye problems before. So I’d never visited an optician. So when I did visit an optician about my vision problem I was devastated when I was told I needed glasses. I’d never worn glasses. And I didn’t want to wear either glasses or contact lenses. Mostly though…I didn’t want to admit to myself that wearing glasses was a sign I was getting older.

But I did start wearing glasses. And even though I’d chosen a nice pair of glasses I hated wearing them. I became very self-conscious. I felt as if anybody I spoke to was staring at my new glasses. I even tried contact lenses but my eyes felt uncomfortable.

That’s when I started looking if there are others ways to improve my eyesight.

And I discovered eye exercises for better vision. I’d never heard of these before. But they sounded simple to do. So I started doing them. Every day I’d set aside some time and run through the routine.

Here are the eye exercises I used to improve my vision.

* Blinking.

* Palming.

* Central Fixation

* Shifting and swinging.

* The Long Swing

* Reading the Snellen eye test card.

After doing these exercises for a couple of weeks my eyesight had definitely improved. Objects were no longer blurred. I could read an extra couple of lines on the eye test card. This was big progress. You can imagine how delighted I was.

Now a few months down the line, I no longer needed to wear glasses and I believe that is as a result of doing the eye exercises. I am extremely happy, for one I don’t need to wear my ugly glasses (yes, I am vain), two I don’t have to incur the ridiculous costs with having to buy new glasses or cotact lenses every year.

      The reason you can’t see clearly without glasses is because your eyeball is either too short or too long (lengthwise, from front to back). If it’s too short, you’ll be farsighted. If it’s too long, you’ll be nearsighted. (We’re talking about minor changes in length here.) If the front surface of the eye is not perfectly spherical, you’ll have astigmatism. Now, that’s a 15 second course in Optometry, and why you need glasses. Vitamin A has absolutely no effect on the length of the eye, and can not change your prescription. Anyone who says otherwise is giving you erroneous information. Vitamin A CAN help improve night vision slightly, particularly if the poor night vision is being caused by a vitamin A shortage. If you eat yellow vegetables such as carrots, squash or pumpkin, you’ll get sufficient vitamin A to meet your needs. Be VERY careful not to start gulping down Vitamin A capsules; it is the ONE vitamin that can actually damage you if you take too much. It should never be taken as straight Vitamin A; it should ONLY be consumed as Beta Carotene, which is the substance that gives carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, etc., it’s yellow color. Don’t take more than what’s recommended on the bottle. Unlike so many vitamins that simply get washed away in your urine, Vitamin A does not. And you can build up excessive levels that can hurt you. But you’ll still need glasses. Nothing (except Lasik surgery) can fix that.

      By the way, Mitul, the Vitamin A didn’t cause improvement in your eyesight. Your eyeball simply stretched out a little longer as it grew. Are you a young person who is still growing? (Eyeballs can grow, but they can’t shrink, which is why you can improve farsightedness as you grow, but not nearsightedness.)

      It is all VOODOO! Save your money and use glasses or contacts. Lasik has a place too, but go to someone who uses it judiciously rather than running “a mill.” Cheaper is not better when it comes to surgery IMHO.

      The main reason is because vision problems are a physical problem (the physical distance between the retina and lens), not a chemical problem that can be changed with drugs, herbs, or supplements :-(

    im not kidding about #4, its from a newspaper in singapore, Today news, giving reports from australia. they compare myopia rates among singapore kids and australia kids, find that aussies have less kids wearing glasses, conclude that cause australia kids go outdoors every day and see the sun (not directly! but just stand in sunlight) and thus have better eyesight.

      Wear reshaping lenses when you sleep.
      Spend more time playing outdoors.
      Take off your glasses sometimes and let your eyes “relax”.

      carotene help steady the ciliary muscle. Which means u can focus better than before.. And the other this is that carrot can purify blood and gives a smooth skin..I recommend raw carrots for this..       It really depends on your vision problem. Most vision issues result from the anatomy of the eye not necessarily weak “eye muscles”.
      1. Cornea shape: can be too steep which is considered near sighted or fuzziness at a distance. Can be too flat which blurs up close. Can be too flat and too steep (90 apart) which is astigmatism. LASIK can usually correct these issues by reshaping the cornea.
      2. Crystalline Lens: This lens sits directly behind the iris and is like our “focusing” lens used to focus on objects at varying distances. This is also the lens that becomes a cataract later on in life. This lens starts to have trouble doing it’s job normally around the ages of 38 to 42 which is when the bifocals or reading glasses come in handy. LASIK doesn’t correct this and why you will still eventually need reading glasses even if you have LASIK earlier in life.

      LASIK generally reshapes cornea to correct near sightedness, far sightedness, and generally mild astigmatism.

      Cataract surgery removes cloudy/opaque crystalline lens and replaces it with a lens similar to a contact lens commonly known as a Intra Ocular Lens.

      RESTORE is a new procedure that replaces that cataract lens with a new lens that supposedly focuses itself just like the crystalline lens once did in the younger body. Negating the need for any type of glasses. I’ve heard mixed reviews on this procedure.

      Having weak muscles can attribute to phorias or “Lazy Eye”. Esophoria/Exophoria is inward/outward turning of one or both eye(s). Although this isn’t the only cause of this condition. There can be other muscle issues to attribute to these. I have never on my time on the field see someone acquire any type phoria without some type of trauma, especially brain trauma. Other than that, you are usually born with the condition which is why some infants/kids are forced to wear a patch.

      They say almonds can help you eyes if you eat a dozen or so every day. i tried it and my eyes stopped deteriorating. i have had the same vision as i had from five years ago. before that, my eyes were worsening, fast. Carrots are also supposed to help eyes.

      This is some health benefit to training your eyes if you have slightly imperfect vision, you may be able to correct it simply with exrecises. I have read biographies about people doing just that, but most people don’t want to spend extra time each day exercising their eyes.

      The computer did not cause you to become nearsighted. I do suggest that you take breaks and change your focus about every 20-30 minutes when using the computer to help with eyestrain.

      You may also want to attempt to increase your visual range by determining what your range of clear vision is, then place an object just outside of it. Stare at the object an attempt to bring it into focus and as your range increases then keep moving further from the object.

      The Bates Method are some relaxation techniques which Bates said improves your eyesight. However, optometry and ophthalmoloy say otherwise. Although, it doesn’t do any harm if you try the Bates Method, just don’t expose your eyes to the sun… Some people have said it works. My sister’s an optometrist and when I asked her if there was any way of improving your eyesight, she got slightly angry because no method has been proved to work. Although, carrots will help your night vision :)

      It took her all her life (11 years) to get where she is, there is nothing short of laser eye surgery to improve her eyesight in a few days.
