You have to have a strategy.
For example, if you have too much inventory, you can use a discount to blow it out. Discounting is easy.
A promotion, however, is a lot of work. You have to get a solid ROI on your time. Therefore, money off is not the main enticement. It should be an all out push on every patient. A program. Balloons or whatever. An “ask me about” button on the staff or something.
I would promote something that would create a buying habit. For example, Rx sun. Or computer glasses. Or, a nice add-on like AR. Stuff that will pay off, over and over again.
