For more than a decade, GUNNAR has been protecting eyes with its patented lens technology to reduce digital eye strain and block blue light. The brand-new line of Reading Glasses provides a blue light solution for users requiring additional focusing power to clearly view digital screens.

The Blue Light Reading Glasses Collection offers consumers seven magnifying powers ranging from +1.0 to +3.0 in increments of +.25 diopters. GUNNAR’s patented lens technology is found throughout the collection and is recommended by doctors to protect against short and long-term effects of digital eye strain and exposure to artificial blue light, including headaches, dry eyes, blurry vision, eye fatigue and macular degeneration.
A recent University of Toledo Study determined blue light turns certain molecules in the human eyes into “cell killers.” The process leads to macular degeneration, an incurable eye disease affecting more than 10 million Americans. According to Dr. Ajith Karunarathne, assistant professor in the UT Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, “We are being exposed to blue light continuously, and the eye’s cornea and lens cannot block or reflect it.” Karunarathne added, “It’s no secret that blue light harms our vision by damaging the eye’s retina.”
