Vision Expo West 2022: A Quick Review!

In this brief video, Dr. Adam Farkas walks us through Vision Expo West 2022.

He compares the event to prior Expos to try to see if the conference is in decline, or bouncing back after a hard few years.

Watch as he meets up with other ODwire.org members. What was your experience at this year’s event?

Kaitlin: -2.25 D To No Glasses (In 1 Year!)

Episode available now in our pro topic video list.

If you have Le Rough Guide with the 200+ pro topic video option (or the full BackTo20/20 course), log into your member account to find the podcast episode added.

We talked quite a bit about plus lens use cases, contact lenses to reduce diopters, low light challenge, and low myopia tricks. Also of course, what she did to help reduce diopters that quickly.

Hope you enjoy!

Trust The Status Quo, Darlings

Jakey be lazy today.

So with few comments, here’s some of our guru inbox:

Yup.

That happens.

Definitely this happens.

There we go.

As usual there are hundreds more that ole VanderBeardface hasn’t screenshot or saved for you.  C’est la vie, kittehz.

Suffice it to say that the lens sellers are basically and simply put, liars.  Or just hopelessly mis-educated.  They sell you garbage that makes you worse, messes up your eyes calibration, forces you to depend on their 5000% marked up nonsensical treatment.

People who don’t like to ask questions, people who are fine being the lowest common denominator, are good with all that garbage.

That’s a lot of people.

Hopefully not you.  Go make some 20/20 gains.

-Jake

Michael: -10.00 To -5.75 Diopter Progress

Back to posting some progress updates more regularly (let’s see how long that lasts).

Here’s Michael’s update, from a starting -10 diopters:

His updates and comments are here in our forum.

Yes, you’ll need an account to see these posts.  We went from being totally open to all lurkers for years, and free to sign up, to members-only a while back.  Way too many people, way too much anonymous browsing, nobody loves to be indexed by Google either.  Plus moderating efforts and all that, lot of work for nobody getting paid since we don’t do ads or anything either.  Jake’s got beaches to be on, wings to foil.

To get in, either buy a course, support endmyopia.  Or hang around the Facebook group, every month or so I give out free invites (they get taken super quick so … snappey snap!).

Theme of endmyopia is likely to continue to be sarcasm and not trying to feed all the lazy masses with just the steps.  Better eyesight is a semi-serious project for semi-serious people who really want to get it done.  There’s way too much noise from the quick-fix crowd, and I don’t have the patience and energy for all that.

Stop crying Jake, you’re thinking.

Fine.  Everything is ‘open source’ and available.  It does take some initiative and effort.  Michael cut his lens dependence by 50% already.  From double digits to moderate myopia, that’s pretty awesome.  Give him a few more years and he’ll barely be needing glasses at all.

This is achievable.

Keep making those 20/20 gains.

Cheers,

-Jake

Endmyopia On The Optimal Body Podcast

Your most darling old eye guru is doing podcasts, being ridden by the endmyopia media team like a mule  rented at a staggering discount.

Take yesterday for example.  They made your favorite old Jakey be up at 9am for one episode (a special one actually with our special friend Brad Kearns – excited for that one), and didn’t let me be done till we finished the last interview at 10:30PM.

Not very leisurely living at all, any of this.

You’d think a Jakey would be old enough at this point to park his graying beard on a pleasant yacht off the coast of Greece somewhere.  Indulge in some manner of mediterranean hedonist, retired-guru habits of illicit substances, with various enjoyable participants of dubious pasts and uncertain futures.

But alas, not any of that.  Instead we’re finding ourselves upstanding and vaguely respectable, talking about eyeballs and how much we don’t need to lock them up behind glasses.

Which we did here, on Dr. Jen’s excellent podcast:

Hopefully you enjoy the episode (time stamps and more, here).

Jen and Dom run a great show, you’ll find lots of interesting guests and topics.  Well worth a browse!

Stay tuned for more.

Cheers,

-Jake

Primal Blueprint Podcast: The Endmyopia Episode

We had the great honor of being a guest on one of the all time great shows in health and nutrition:  The Primal Blueprint Podcast!

Primal Blueprint, of course the brainchild of Mark Sisson.  If you’ve been into educated food choices for a long time you likely recognize the name, and know about Mark’s original blog from back in the day.

Your favorite old bearded homeless man, aka the last of the living eye gurus, aka he-who-knows-little, aka Jake VonSteinerhausen, has been a long time reader of Mark’s Daily Apple.  Mark Sisson has contributed many great ideas to the conversation of food and health!

No surprise then that Mark’s podcast is in the top 1% of all podcasts (or even, top 0.5%).

That’s fancy stuff right there.

Of course we’re not audience snobs or measuring ourselves by numbers on a screen.  I love small shows and big shows, anywhere and everywhere with people interested in their own health, wanting to be better, not giving in to dogma and accountability-free living.

Shout-out to the amazing Brad Kearns for making this episode happen.  We’ve done Brad’s show as well, a podcast which definitely merits a spot on your podcast subscription list.   Have a look at his guest list for some excellent topics.  Great style and enthusiasm and questions, I always appreciate Brad’s flavor of interviews.

And while you’re at it, check out some of our previous interviews on other podcasts.

It’s great to connect with fellow human biology enthusiasts, and validating that even the big shows take an interest in our message about better, natural eyesight.

Yay!  Hopefully you’re reading this while also making some 20/20 gains of your own.

Cheers,

-Jake
