About the Position
They are looking for a happy, energetic optician with experience to assist their loyal patients. Recommending and selling eyewear & contact lenses, fitting & troubleshooting eyewear and edging & fitting lenses (training will be provided if needed) are all the fun parts of the job duties to expect.
While this practice would prefer someone who is ABO certified, it is not essential. The owners are even offering to assist with getting your ABO certification if you don’t have it yet. This is a fun full-time position with a bonus structure, medical & dental benefits, 401K, paid time off, and employee discounts.
Job requirements including, but not limited to:
- Taking customer information and measurements
- Recommending frames that suit the patient’s style, face, and specifications
- Recommending, adjusting and fitting frames according to the patient’s prescription
- Contact lens recommendations and sales
- Preparing work orders to manufacture the lenses
- Manufacturing and assembling eyewear (practice has on-site finish lab)
- Using specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers, lens gauges and finish lab equipment
- Keeping inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction
- Minor frame repairs
- Educating customers on how to wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses
- Performing administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, customer records, and insurance
- Troubleshooting issues with fit and vision with eyeglass frames and lenses
- Following all required laws and rules, including those relating to HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Following all company policies and procedures
